Jackpot Johnnie Mae goes to Mega Play Internet Cafe – Richmond Heights, OH

With the internet cafe’s popping up around the city, my mother Jackpot Johnnie and I tried the internet cafe in Richmond Heights.  It is located in a shopping plaza with Dave’s Supermarket on Wilson Mills Road.  When we entered the place, it was very dark with a lot of internet screens along the wall and in short rows facing each other.  The cashier was at the rear of the place and was the only bright light in the room.

This place didnt’ appear as clean as Surf City.  Don takes personal pride in bringing his disinfectant to wipe down the computer screens and tables.  I made it to the cashier and bought some internet play.  I walked over to one of the machines and my mother had already started.

We were located on the short rows.  It was very annoying because the chairs were too close together.  Every time someone wanted to get up, you had to pull in your chair.  There wasn’t much room on the tables with the computer screen. If you had a drink, you had to be careful not to knock it over and the only place to logically put your coat was to stuff it in your chair.

Mega Play is advertised in the Bingo Scene Magazine.  It advertised a free buffet all day and night.  If you consider hamburgers and hotdogs a buffet then this is your place.  If you want chips or candy, it is located behind the cashier and she will give you specific pieces of candy if you ask and one bag of potato chips.  They have a soda fountain to get drinks and a microwave.  I was not impressed with this “buffet”.

They do have a drawing every hour and it is based on what machine you are sitting at.  The lucky person can get into the cash machine.  This machine blows paper money in the air and you have so much time to retrieve it.  The person we saw in the machine was able to collect $27.00.

There are several games to play but you aren’t able to stop the machine like the Vegas Slots.  Once you place your bet, the machine stops when it wants to.  There were several times that the machine was rolling and rolling for several seconds.  The cashier explained that the machines went off-line at those times.  The machines were offline too often for my personal taste.

The payouts seemed to come quickly in small denominations.  You can have hours of fun if you can judge how the machines are going.  We have been back a few times but no big jackpot yet.
